Island Power Plant a 11.5MW Power Plant, is the 1st integrated and fully independent power generation, distribution and public lighting solution in Nigeria. It provides 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to crucial Lagos State facilities within the health, education, water, waste management, science & technology, judicial, sport and transportation sectors and public lighting installations on over 49 Streets in the Lagos Island via a 57KM dedicated underground distribution network.
The plant was completed in a nine-month period and has now been in operation for over 4 years with an average reliability rate of over 98%.
The success of the plant to date continues to emphasize Viathan’s potential as a leader in the Nigerian electricity industry. The project is the first to implement the recently enacted embedded generation license regime, which permits us to evacuate electricity directly to customers through an underground distribution network.
