Job Summary

  • The Candidate is responsible for the commercial operation of existing collaborations and agreements as well as researching and pursuing new business leads for the growth of the business.
  • The Candidate will also serve as the Business Planning Lead for the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • The Candidate shall play a key role in supporting the business to achieve revenue targets in line with corporate objectives and ensuring that the value of customers/markets created will propel the company to achieve its stated long term strategic objectives in Capacity and EBITDA terms.
  • The candidate is also responsible for contract performance end to end planning, negotiation, evaluation, operation, and review.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and retain relationships with key accounts and all existing clients
  • Participate in the planning, development and implementation of company's commercial plans in order to maintain a consistent trajectory of growth 
  • Support the development of new business opportunities as well as manage all commercial agreements to optimise the company's commercial interests and drive revenue
  • Identify, define, attract, convince and convert growth opportunities from existing customers to purchase our products and/or services – both power and gas
  • Develop and grow a pipeline to support quota achievement; implement a sales and marketing plan to identify qualified sales leads
  • Provide input into strategic marketing activities for new products and enhancements to existing products based on customer needs
  • Produce lead reports and document important customer opportunities; ensure action is taken and leads are followed through
  • Follow up new business opportunities and set up meetings with prospects/customers
  • Advise on methods for identifying leads and procedures for turning them over (shared responsibility with entire team)
  • Evaluating the business ideas according to the company criteria
  • Keep prospective client database updated
  • Negotiate, evaluate, and review Gas Supply & Purchase Agreements (GSPAs) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with off-takers
  • Lead the Strategic Business Planning Process for the Commercial Team. (Gas and Power)
  • Plan and prepare presentations – writing reports and other business communication
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

Work Experience

  • 8-10 years’ cognate experience in Gas and Power Agreements Negotiation, Operation, Sales, Marketing and Business Development
  • Experience in the Energy industry would be an advantage

Education/Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business-related or Social Science field
